Raised in Compton, married at a young age, divorced 10 years later (with 2 children) a single parent for 4 years & being dependent on God for everything. I had a strong family to help me through the hard times. Later remarried to an awesome man who is a Pastor (with 3 children). Dealing with the struggles of keeping a blended family together, marriage itself and how we have to keep our husband’s uplifted and keep watch on where the enemy can come in to kill, steal & destroy. My name is Mary Morfin. I am 70 years old. I am married and have 5 children, 2 boys and 3 beautiful daughters. I have 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. I am African American and my husband is Mexican. I was born in Mississippi and raised in St. Louis. I came to Southern California in 1956 and that’s when I feel I started my life journey. I was 18 years old, I had already had my first child, a boy, whose father was a married man and had lied to me. I should have listened to my parents who were good Christian people, but I wanted to leave home because we were very poor. So I did it my way and it made things worse. Because this happened to me, I began to hate men, so every man I met, I would go out with them, get them so drunk until they would pass out, then I would take all their money then leave them wherever we was. I never felt sorry for them. They didn’t know me and I didn’t know them. I never worked the same area twice. WOTC, |
